His Scars Not Mine, His Promise Not Pride

This drawing is my favourite as it just came together in parts and wasn’t pre-planned. I started with the girl kneeling to pray as a depiction of surrendering to the Lord in time of silence. As time is spent with Christ the revelation of the Cross of Jesus is revealed to us and the power that it holds. The Blood of Christ poured out that Day became more important than my own blood that I used to see after harming. Christ’s Blood washed away mine, it washed away my sin and broke my chains.

The gift of freedom God granted me as I sought Him made the demons, that tormented me daily, flee in fear.

As this art piece concluded with the rainbow it became the overall story of my testimony. The rainbow that once meant Pride now symbolised the Promise of a covering from the wrath of God and a redemption plan just for me.

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galations 5:1 ESV

The Rainbow

The book represents the Word of God and the rainbow is the Rainbow of Promise.

This drawing depicts the rainbow’s origins which comes from God Himself Who made a covenant promise with all creation. He ensured its record in His Word so that we may know the truth of Him when we behold this colourful bow in the sky.

The devil made sure to distort the view of God’s promise by using it for his own purpose to steal the truth from mankind. The LGBT lifestyle may look just as colourful and attractive as the rainbow but in reality it’s a life heading for a destruction. The most beautiful rainbow we can behold is within the pages of the Bible inspired by the Holy Spirit. The words of truth, life and genuine love in the text of scripture brings joy and colour to our lives when we continue to abide and seek Him in it.

Then God said to Noah, “Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant I am confirming with all the creatures on earth.” – Genesis 9:17

The word over sexuality

The open book represents the Word of God, the Bible, and the rainbow represents the pride flag. I drew this as an expression of the Biblical truth compared to society’s definitions of sexuality and orientations. When the Lord revealed His truth to me it utterly shattered the many complicated definitions of attraction I was trying to find myself in.

The Word is very direct and simple in its explanation of sexuality and marriage.

There are strictly two genders, male and female, and these two complement one another when they come in unity.

Sexuality is a sacred gift from God and it should be guarded as such. – 1 Corinthians 6:13-17

Attraction is based upon our hearts desires and feelings which we as believers should not rely on. – James 1:14-15

Only satan is a liar and the author of confusion; he comes to distort God’s glorious truth to destroy us – just as he did with Eve in the garden.

Now the serpent was more cunning than any animal of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God really said, ‘You shall not eatfrom any tree of the garden’?” – Genesis 3:1 NASB
